I haven't finished RDR2 yet, but I generally found God of War a better game. The combat gameplay is just awesome. RDR2 keeps you busy more hours (even without the upcoming multiplayer) but it feels more repetitive and the combat is the generic take-cover-and-shoot with resource management of i-win mechanic "deadeye". It's still a great sandbox sprawling world but GoW did more for me. It's been a great year for games in general and both are great games. But if I had to choose a single game for the award, i'd take GoW without doubts.

In my oppinion God of War is much better than RDR2. For me the sluggish gameplay in RDR2 makes it very uncomfortable to play. I know the developer did this to make it feel more realistic. But I think they pushed it too hard. Especially when you are in your camp (or also somewhere else) you walk so slow. This is just annoying.

I like God of War but the wolrd seems very empty. Great atmosphere sure but your only god dam friends that also give you all the side missions are the Dwarfs...The Dwarfs! and the ghost sure. nonetheless a great game.

God of war for me don’t get me wrong rdr2 is a good game but it’s has more noticeable problems than GoW one is the controls, it’s very clunky that combat feels like a task meanwhile God of war combat and movement feels so good that you just want to fight enemies and do combinations. One time I was in a gun fight then got off my horse I had problem aiming because if you press L2 instead or aim it goes to the horse menu. It’s hard that they made 2-3 actions in one button it’s kinda frustrating.

Love both games. And I don´t care which one wins. The only things I can compare in these two games, is the replayability of GoW and how long will you be hooked on RDR2. And GoW was clearly created to have a couple of sequels. Therefor, for some people, it can look a bit empty (or emptier). Rockstar is limited only by the hardware. Games full of stuff to do. To be honest. Both companies deserve a GOTY for these two games.

RDR2 is basically the same repetitive task done again and again. Very boring story line, but fortunately the ambiance is great.

Am i the only Person here who plays Dragon Quest 11? Its awesome, 100 hours in and im still not quite done with the story. But i guess people here tend to forget awesome games If they arent Made by big Western companies.

RDR2 is the best game I have ever played tbh in every point it is convincing and statements like it plays to hard are such weak excuses to not accept the fact. What did you expect when peoplr keeo bizch about realism in games ? The the co trolls become easier when you gain the ability to do more real stuff ingame ? GoW isn't even close as detailed as RDR2 and you have to commit that and those little details make a masterpiece. Show me one fucking game where the clothes are renderet seperatly and you have to pick ab your own fucking hat when it falls off of your head, show me one damn game where the dirt on your cloths can dry out and fall off like it would in reality.. You just can't compare those two games imo GoW is fun for casual players who don't get to play often and want to see as much as possible in one hour but RDR2 is like acinemamovie where everything builds up on each other and you fond always a new detail which amazes you even more (sorry for bad english)

Lul no you are a fanboy sir this is a multi platform the game is the same all across the board in terms of control. You don’t even have a single counter argument on my points. Controls is trash facts live with it.
